White Mules' Hymn and Poems

White Mules’ Hymn

Sung to the tune of "O Tannenbaum"

White Mules and White Mountains

Forever in our memories

White Mules and White Mountains

Forever in our reveries.

We hike the hills

we ski the trails

Thy glories will us never fail.

White Mountain Ski Runners

Your spirit is undying.

From farmhouse to farmhouse

White Mule did travel long ago.

But now fun and fellowship

Are always found at Neighbors Row.

We cook the roasts

We toast our hosts

We sing our songs

Tell tales so long

White Mountain Ski Runners

Your spirit is undying.

Mules Handbook Poem

No more frantic searching by old and young Mules

For Club information, addresses or rules

Our committee has combined all in one neat Handbook

You can locate everything in the index with just one quick look.

It was Bruce who gave vision to these ideas

But it was created by the following hardworking volunteers

Especially Martha, Anneliese, David and Nancy,

Also Lisa, Dedee, Heather, Christine and Judy.

It covers Bylaws, instructions, historical news

Work weekends, board service and membership dues

How to host a ski weekend, and “Apres le Ski”

The hosts prepare condiments, but you BYOB.

Bed assignments are outlined, but we don’t cover snoring

We do discuss dinner, where conversations are never boring

Should you lack entertainment you can practice fire drills

Via stairwells or hanging ladders over designated window sills.

To the kids: you are included as well as you’ll note

And we’re hoping that you’ll ask your parents to promote

Ski lessons and races but please make sure that

They don’t wear their new ski boots to their bunk bed!

To those who maintained our lodge with blood, sweat and tears

And held the club together over more than 60 years

We say “thank you” for teaching us to be good sports

Both outdoors and in their stewardship of the Mule Boards.

To the Mulemeister members for all you have done

Rest assured to your legacies, we’ll pass your baton

Through this Handbook’s many pages is certainly one way

Let us know if there’s more you would like us to say.

So “thank you” Committee for taking on our President’s request

And now that it’s finished you can once more do what you love best

Racing downhill White Mountains’ snow covered slopes

In matching green jackets, proudly adorned with Mule logos.

-- Written by Judy Paap upon presenting the official Mules Handbook

Annual meeting, circa 1998

Handbook for the "Mule-ennium"!

Come one and come all, Mules young and old

Learn all about us as these pages unfold

A few sections changed but mostly adjusted

As new situations caused rules to be dusted.

The bylaws ad fee structures have all been updated

Officers, calendar, history and forms translated

Weekend procedures and instructions for viewing

Posted on the Mules website for easy pursuing.

We’re glad to have members known now as Junior

While maintaining guidelines for those who are Minor

Our Membership process is clearer than ever

Introducing Mentors who will be friends forever.

Keep this green notebook handy so always a guide

A reference with ideas to keep things in stride

Especially the words of the joyous Club Hymn

Ready to sing with great vigor and vim!
